Keep Ayrshire Fed Initiative

in 2020 we ran a number of food bank collections, following the COVID-19 guidelines whilst sending a steady stream of goods to the South Ayrshire Foodbank when they needed it.

at the start of the pandemic when we weren't sure how things were going to pan out eventually our team of extraordinary young people decided to help, this was an amazing experience for all involved.

in the months we were actively collecting food at Marr College who kindly allowed us to use their car park as a place to set up collections every week, we managed to raise just over 4,700KG of goods along with a few hundred pounds which went directly to the foodbank to help support their operations which were significantly increased during the same time period due to the job loss, furlough and other influences which had the most vulnerable people needing more help than ever.

Our team on day one!the first day (Lia Matteoni, Jemma Lee, Jacqui Holroyd, Nell McIntyre, Kieran Holroyd, Kimberley Montgomery)

Since then things have eased somewhat, with the country opening up more, and the amazing work of Marcus Rashford the foodbank no longer required our weekly support.

along with that almost every shop and most members of the public became very aware of the struggles happening around the country to simply be able to feed kids & others. everyone started their own foodbank drives, it was absolutely amazing to watch the country come together for a common goal, as for us our work was done.

So from everyone in our team, we would like to thank you for whatever you were able to bring, donate or say that kept us motivated.

Our Team: John Boyd, Kirsty Buckingham, Kieran Holroyd, Jacqui Holroyd, Nyah Holroyd, Gareth Holroyd, Jemma Lee, Lia Matteoni, Nicola Matteoni, Nell McIntyre, Kimberley Montgomery, Millie Toal, George Docherty, Christine Maxwell

Everyone who made it possible, thank you.
